Back by popular demand, the Glee Handbell Choir from Meiji Gakuin Higashimurayama High School in Tokyo, Japan will present two concerts at Lauritzen Gardens on Thursday, July 25. Concerts will be held indoors from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m. and 3:30 to 4:45 p.m. and will include selections by Glenn Miller and Edward Elgar as well as other classical and modern pieces. The 13 member choir is recognized as a leading handbell choir in Japan and is led by directors Mr. Kazuyoshi Inagaki and Mr. Takanobu Onoda.

The Glee Handbell Choir has been part of Meiji Gakuin since 1978.

The ensemble tours the United States biennially and last performed in Omaha in 2017. The choir's five-week tour takes them to locations throughout the United States. In each city they visit, the choir members will present concerts, sight-see, and get acquainted with American culture via host families.

Performances will take place in the great hall. It is included with garden admission ($10 adults, $5 children 6-12, free for children under 6). Lauritzen Gardens members enjoy free general admission.
