Glee Handbell Choir of Japan

Friday, July 26, 2024

Performance at 11 a.m.

Back by popular demand, the Glee Handbell Choir from Meiji Gakuin Higashimurayama High School in Tokyo, Japan will present a concert at Lauritzen Gardens on Friday, July 26. The concert will be held indoors in the great hall and will include both classical and modern pieces.

The Glee Handbell Choir, recognized as a leading handbell choir in Japan, has been part of Meiji Gakuin since 1978. The ensemble tours the United States biennially and last performed in Omaha in 2019. The choir's tour takes them to locations throughout the United States. In each city they visit, the choir members will present concerts, sight-see, and get acquainted with American culture via host families.

This special performance is included with garden admission ($15 ages 13+, $9 children 3-12, free for children 2 and under). Lauritzen Gardens members enjoy free general admission.
