Summer Adventure Day Camps provide a unique learning experience for children   

5-12 years of age where they will learn science concepts and interact with nature through hands-on activities, arts and crafts and more in indoor and outdoor settings. Camps will be held onsite at Lauritzen Gardens this summer.

ALL CAMPS ARE FULL-DAY, FULL-WEEK.   

  

Extended check-in and checkout packages are available.   

·         Early drop-off is available from 8 to 9 a.m. and late pick up from 4 to 5 p.m.   

·         Please note, these options are not available for camps held in conjunction with Fontenelle Forest or Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium.  

  

ALTRU Registration system   

·         Members must be logged into the system in order to receive their discounts. If this is the first time that you have used the system since December 2020, please click register in the upper right-hand corner and register your account using the email that you have on file with the garden. After completing that process, click sign-in (or verify that your email appears in the upper right) and then complete your camp transaction. Member discounts will be automatically applied in the cart.

GOING ON A NATURE (STORY) WALK

Reading is fun - but reading in the garden is fun-omenal! Inspire and celebrate your camper's love of reading with five fantastic books, all about exploring nature and the natural world. Campers will complete activities connected to each of the books, and will have opportunities to read, discuss, and interact with their peers. Books are included in the camp price and will go home with campers. It's a week where the literary world and the natural world combine for learning and fun!

CONSERVATION HEROES

Join Lauritzen Gardens and Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium to learn all about the threatened and endangered plants and animals of Nebraska and the importance of conservation. Campers will explore the garden and the zoo, discover ways to support native plant and animal species, and learn how to be environmental stewards to keep the wonders of nature safe.

EXPEDITION NATURE  

JULY 8-12 - SOLD OUT! OR JULY 29-AUGUST 2 - SOLD OUT!  

Journey into the worlds of Lauritzen Gardens and Fontenelle Forest in this week of exploration and discovery. Campers will learn to look at nature with the eyes of an intrepid explorer and investigate the amazing living things all around us.

INSECT INVESTIGATIONS  

JULY 15-19- SOLD OUT!  

Do you have a future entomologist in your family? Send them to camp this week to study the biology and ecology of insects. Campers will get up close and personal with the bugs found in the garden, make insect-inspired art projects, and learn all about insects' special role in our vast ecosystem. Join us for a week-long exploration of the weird and wonderful bugs of our world!

For the young scientist in your family, we present a week of inquiry, investigation and experimentation! With tools like observation, teamwork, and magnifying glasses, campers will make NEW scientific discoveries every day, as they dive deep into the mysteries of the natural world around us.

UN-BEE-LIEVABLE ART

It's time to BEE inspired! Join us for a week of arts and crafts, all inspired by honeybees. Campers will learn about bees' special talents, artistic abilities, and amazing pollination superpowers, all while getting creative and exploring 100 acres of natural wonder at Lauritzen Gardens.

REFUNDS AND CANCELLATIONS  

  

A refund equal to 50% of the purchase price may be given when the refund is requested a minimum of four weeks before the start of the camp, this includes any goods or services purchased in conjunction with the camp. If a refund is requested within four weeks of camp, no refund will be given. The refund of one or more camps may affect the sale prices charged in the previous transaction, and therefore may affect the refund. In the event that multiple camps have been purchased, and a refund is requested, amounts refunded will begin with the least expensive camp and progress higher in purchase price as needed according to purchases within the same transaction. When possible, Lauritzen Gardens can transfer a camp registration to another session. However, transfer requests are based on availability.
