Calling all chess players!
Immerse yourself in a captivating chess experience amid the serene
beauty of Lauritzen Gardens! On Saturday, September 16, from 10:30 a.m. until
12:30 p.m., local chess master Nathan Solon will take on 25 players at once in a
thrilling outdoor chess simul, the first event of its kind hosted at the garden. Don't
miss the chance to test your skills against a seasoned expert or watch in awe
as the games unfold.
Pre-registration is required to play, and the cost is $20 per
player
To participate in the match as a competitor, email Jennifer Evans at j.evans@omahabotanicalgardens.org. If a space is still open,
you will be contacted for your registration information and to make payment.
Space to compete is limited, so secure your spot early! Players are advised to
arrive at 10 a.m. and should anticipate approximately 2 hours of enthralling
gameplay.
Spectators are welcome!
Spectating is included with paid general admission and is free for
garden members. Whether you're a chess enthusiast or just curious about the game, all are welcome. Be a
part of this engaging event, surrounded by the splendor of Lauritzen Gardens.

Nate Solon is a FIDE Master, chess coach, and writer based
in Nebraska. As a junior he was one of the top players for his age in the
