Each year, a tree is planted in honor of an individual who has contributed to the development of the garden. Past Arborvitae Award honorees are Helena Street, Alden Aust, Virginia Stewart, Barbara Schaefer, Robert Turner, Jim and Kathy Quinlan, Kimball Lauritzen and Lois Roskens.
