Pricing and Tour Information

Themed summer field trips are recommended for participants going into Pre-K through 5th grade, and garden guided tours are available for participants going into middle or high school. Groups must have at least 10 student participants and a maximum of 50. Please reach out to us for groups larger than 50.

The cost to attend is $6 per student, with one staff member/chaperone admitted at no cost for every 10 students. Additional parent chaperones may attend by paying regular admission or using their garden membership.

Admission sponsorship and transportation may be available for select "summer school" academic programs through public and private school districts, as well as homeschool groups. Please note that this does not apply to summer out-of-school programs affiliated with local school districts. Please reach out to Erin Heckeroth-Brown at e.heckeroth-brown@omahabotanicalgardens.org to see if your program may qualify.

Please plan to book your field trip at least two weeks in advance. Themes and tour options are listed below and typically last 90 minutes, unless otherwise noted.

Themes and Tour Options

Things with Wings (Pre-K-5th Grade)

Discover how 'things with wings' such as birds, bees, and other bugs play a crucial role in our gardens. In addition to a tour and chance to explore our best bug-spotting locations, participants will enjoy a hands-on activity related to 'things with wings'.

Gardens on the Go (Pre-K-5th Grade)

Make sure your summer stays on track with a field trip to explore the trains at Kenefick Park as well as our unique model railroad garden. In between your visit to these two iconic parts of the gardens, participants will explore a hands-on transportation themed STEM challenge!

Play in the Garden (Pre-K-5th Grade, please note this theme has a maximum of 40 students)

Have some fun, and enjoy some competition, with this tour featuring multiple garden spaces including the arboretum, Victorian garden, and more. Each garden space will include a tour and a themed-outdoor game, helping participants see how much fun can be had outdoors in the garden. Top it all off with a visit to our brand-new interactive space, Sofia's Play Garden, and this trip is sure to be a winning combination!

Garden Safari (Pre-K-5th Grade)

This summer, Lauritzen Gardens is hosting Tremendous Topiaries, a collection of 25 animal topiaries that will be spread throughout the garden, including fish, elephants, and even a lion! This tour will feature not only the animals represented in each display, but also the beautiful variety of plants growing on each topiary, plus animal themed games and activities.

Garden Guided Tour (Middle & High School)

With over 20 gardens and 100 acres to explore, your summer guided tour will highlight the best spots to enjoy the gardens in the peak of summer. Each tour will feature multiple spaces based on what's in bloom and leave your students feeling inspired.

Discovery Tour (All Ages)

This self-guided experience allows groups to explore the outdoor garden spaces at their own pace! Please note that groups must adhere to the 1:10 adult to student ratio at all times. Sofia's Play Garden is not included in Discovery Tours unless specific arrangements have been made based on schedules and staffing.
