Art Exhibit: Donald R. Buma

Plants and Gardens

April 6 through May 22, 2016
9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily

About the exhibit

A collection of plant and landscape photographs that display the beauty of plants and landscapes.

About the artist

Donald Buma has worked in public gardens and parks that have ranged from Cape Cod National Seashore in the East to Botanica the Wichita Gardens, Kansas, in the West.  His employment has also included being Horticulturist at Longwood Gardens, Pennsylvania.  He recently retired as Executive Director of Norfolk Botanical Garden in Virginia. Buma has also had the opportunity to visit many other gardens and natural areas across the country.  In all instances the visits were enjoyable and a pleasure for the senses.  Using photography to capture some of those often fleeting experiences was the natural outgrowth of his desire to record and later share those glimpses of the beauty of creation.  It is his hope that that those observing his photographs find pleasure in viewing them and making a visual, and perhaps even emotional, connection with the intricacies, elegance and beauty of plants, gardens and nature.
